Where is the entrance to Park Guell?

The main Park Guell entrance is Carrer D'Olot, 08024 Barcelona, Spain.

The entrance to the monumental zone - the one you visit - is just as famous as the park itself, with its magnificent wrought iron gate (from the Casa Vicens) and the two pavilions that made up the caretaker's lodge when the park was built.

The two pavilions at the entrance to Park Güell

The pavilion on the left -when you enter- was the caretaker's house, with a waiting room and a telephone booth, and the one on the right was the caretaker's residence, hence its name Casa del Guarda (Caretaker's House).

These magnificent pavilions in Catalan modernist style with mosaic roofs are the signature of Gaudi and the gateway to his world.

Today the pavilion on the right is a bookshop. The pavilion on the left "La Casa del Guarda" is the museum of Barcelona's history.

Laie Park Güell the bookshop of the Park

The Laie bookshop offers the possibility to buy souvenirs of the Park Guell and the work of Antoni Gaudí. These include merchandise such as postcards, posters, and t-shirts, as well as jewelry and costume jewelry, decorative objects, reproductions and specialised books on Gaudí, Modernisme and Barcelona.

The Laie bookshop is very well known in Barcelona for the quality of the books selected, especially on contemporary art. You can also find their bookshops at the Picasso Museum and the Pedrera - Casa Milà.

The Barcelona History Museum

The Barcelona History Museum is also present in several cultural places in Barcelona, including this pavilion "La Casa del Guarda" in Park Guell. A house built between 1901 and 1903 at the entrance to the park by Gaudí as a residence for the estate's caretaker. It is known for its use of Catalan vaulting and its combination of interior simplicity with great formal refinement. Comparing Gaudí's different constructions in the city and elsewhere, we can see his ability to find ingenious and practical solutions for different types of buildings and urban spaces using his knowledge of architecture, urbanism, and nature, which are rooted in ancient and local traditions.

Other entrances to Park Güell

There are two other possible entrances to Park Güell: the Carretera del Carmel entrance, number 23, and the Passatge de Sant Josep de la Muntanya entrance, which is served by escalators.
