Park Güell opens every day of the year. The hours change six times a year: the opening time and the last entry slot shift with the season, and you have 30 minutes after the time on your ticket to get in.

Once you leave, you cannot come back in. Your ticket opens the monumental zone once, at your slot. Stay as long as you like inside, but plan the visit in one go: no stepping out for lunch or to the shop and returning later.

Before you book your slot
The last entry slot on sale is 5.30pm in winter, 6.00pm in late winter and 7.30pm from spring to autumn - see the table above.
You may enter up to 30 minutes after the time printed on your ticket; after that the ticket is lost.
Booking online in advance is strongly recommended, especially in high season: without a ticket, and with a long queue at the gate, you may not get in at all.
Your ticket carries a time, and you have 30 minutes from that time to enter.
Once inside you may stay as long as you like, but leaving the monumental zone is final.
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the monumental zone, so pick a slot at least two hours before the last entry if you want the full visit in daylight.
Not any more: the free early-morning entry ended in 2013.
Park Güell is actually open from 7am to 10pm, but the time bands outside the ticketed hours are reserved for Barcelona residents and tourist visits are not allowed then:
- "Bon dia Barcelona", from 7am until the first ticket slot (9.30am, 9am in July and August);
- "Bon vespre Barcelona", from 30 minutes after the last entry slot until 10pm.
Residents get in free with the Passi Verd, a same-day reservation tied to the municipal register, and the neighbourhoods around the park have a permanent pass.
If you are not registered in Barcelona, only the ticketed hours in the table apply to you.
Park Güell opens every day of the year, 25 December and 1 January included.
No closure does not mean no visitors: book ahead for those days.
The Gaudí House Museum, inside the park, reopened on 9 July 2024 after the renovation of its façade and several rooms, on the 40th anniversary of the park's UNESCO listing.
It is not included in the standard entry ticket: choose the combined "Park Güell & Gaudí House Museum" ticket (29.00 € instead of 17.00 €) at booking, with its own time slot for the house. The museum has limited capacity and shorter hours than the park, so plan your slot around it.

Frequently asked questions
Early, right after opening, or late in the afternoon. The park is popular with locals as well as visitors, and the middle of the day is the busiest - particularly at weekends.
January, February, March, April, November and December: mild temperatures, few rainy days, and a much quieter park. May and October are good too, slightly warmer. June to September is ideal for the weather and the busiest time of the year.
Yes, since July 2020. The whole park is regulated, capped at 1,400 visitors an hour, and the ticket covers the monumental zone, the green area and the viewpoints. The old free access to the wooded part is over; only registered Barcelona residents still get in without a ticket.
