CSIO Barcelona from 1 to 4 October 2026
CSIO Barcelona is a prestigious international show jumping competition that hosts the final of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup every year at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. The event combines top-level equestrian sport with family entertainment such as PoloPark.
"Brava Fest" The Patatas Bravas Festival from 2 to 4 October 2026
Barcelona's festival of the best patatas bravas returns for its third edition at the Poble Espanyol. Fourteen restaurants will serve their bravas along with another signature tapa. Live music, workshops, prize draws and other activities will also be on the programme. The highlight will be the selection of the best bravas by a professional jury and festival participants.

IRONMAN Barcelona on 4 October 2026
The IRONMAN Calella-Barcelona 2026 will take place in Calella, near Barcelona, featuring the full-distance race: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and a 42.2 km run, on a Mediterranean course renowned for its speed.

Festí Fest 4-5 October 2026
Festí Fest is Barcelona's new gastronomic event, held at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm. Organised by the newspaper ARA and Àpat, the festival will showcase ten restaurants serving a variety of delights, from Mexican tacos to Catalan tapas. More than 40 stalls selling local products, workshops, fun activities and a music programme featuring renowned DJs will complete this foodie celebration.

"Festes del Roser" La Rambla's big festival on 7 October 2026
Every October, Barcelona celebrates La Rambla with the “Festes del Roser”, a colourful and authentic festival. During this week, the famous avenue, often crowded with tourists, takes on a more local and festive atmosphere. From 4 to 12 October 2026, residents and visitors can enjoy a series of free events including guided tours, creative workshops and live music performances around La Rambla and its surroundings. One of the highlights is undoubtedly the mushroom tasting at Mercat de la Boqueria. With the beginning of mushroom season, this gourmet tasting is a great opportunity to discover the autumn flavours of the region in a friendly atmosphere.
Swab Barcelona from 8 to 11 October 2026
Swab Barcelona is an independent contemporary art fair founded in 2006, highlighting emerging and multidisciplinary practices in an intimate, human-scale atmosphere at the Textile Pavilion of Fira de Barcelona. Every autumn it brings together around sixty international galleries, offering innovative exhibitions, performances and a space dedicated to young talent through its Emerging, SEED and MyFAF programmes.
Barcelona Oktoberfest - Until 11 October 2026
Barcelona's Oktoberfest takes place at Fira Montjuïc, near Plaça Espanya. Inspired by the famous Bavarian festival, it features huge decorated tents, live Bavarian music, traditional German food and, of course, plenty of Paulaner beer. Admission is free and VIP table reservations are available for those who want to make the most of the event. This friendly festival is a must for lovers of beer and Bavarian culture in Barcelona.

In-Edit Barcelona is Barcelona's international music documentary festival, founded in 2003. It brings together screenings, premieres, concerts, professional meetings and events centred around great stories from the world of music. This new Barcelona edition features more than 120 screenings and a strong international dimension.

How about combining gastronomy and astronomy for an unforgettable evening? From May to October, Fabra Observatory invites you to enjoy a refined outdoor dinner overlooking Barcelona before exploring the mysteries of the night sky through a telescope.
The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc
The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc (Font Màgica de Montjuïc) is a spectacular series of fountain displays located between Plaça d’Espanya and the Palau Nacional in Barcelona. A show of sound, light and water jets: the main fountain presents a synchronised display of colourful water jets, lights and music, attracting thousands of visitors every week. Created for the 1929 International Exhibition, it has become one of the city's most famous evening attractions.
The usual Magic Fountain opening hours are:
- October: Thursday to Saturday, from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm
- November to March: Thursday to Saturday, from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Each show lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes and starts every 30 minutes. Admission is free and no ticket is required.
