During the festive season in Catalonia - see What to do in Barcelona January? - it's inconceivable not to try the famous "Tortell de Reis". Among the most famous in the city, we invite you to discover those of Pastisseria Carrió.

"Tortell de Reis" is a traditional Catalan pastry, also known as "Kings' Cake". It is typically eaten during the Epiphany period in Catalonia and other regions of Spain. The cake is crown-shaped and decorated with candied fruit, sugar and sometimes dried fruit; inside the cake there is often a hidden figurine (often a bean) and a bean or small figurine. Whoever finds the figurine is crowned king or queen for the day, while whoever finds the bean is responsible for buying the cake the following year.

Pastisseria Carrió: A benchmark for award-winning "Tortell de Reis"!

Nestled in Barcelona's Gràcia district, Pastisseria Carrió is much more than just a pastry shop. Run by Oriol and Anna Carrió, descendants of a line of pastry chefs, this store combines tradition and modernity. They continue the family heritage established 40 years ago, while adding a personal, contemporary touch to their creations.

Quality is the watchword at Pastisseria Carrió. Oriol, master pastry chef, and Anna, in charge of sales, make it a point of honor to use only the finest ingredients, adding patience and care to every stage of production. This philosophy has earned the patisserie several awards, including Catalonia's best "panellet de piñones" (pine nuts) in 2022 and best tortell de Reyes in 2021. If you'd like to try their famous "panellets de piñones", awarded best artisan pastry in Catalonia, you should know that they sell for 65 euros a kilo. This traditional Catalan specialty, made with almonds, sugar and pine nuts, is a pure delight that reflects Pastisseria Carrió's expertise and attention to detail.

As you can see, when you visit Pastisseria Carrió, you'll discover not only a quality patisserie, but also a rich family history and a passion for the craft of pastry-making.

Hello CC, To travel from Sitges to Barcelona Airport (specifically Terminal 2), you can take a train but there is no direct train service. Here's how you can do it: Take the R2 Sud train from Sitges: This line runs directly to El Prat de Llobregat station. The train departs frequently from Sitges, and the trip to El Prat de Llobregat takes about 30-35 minutes. Transfer at El Prat de Llobregat: Once you arrive at this station, you need to switch to the R2 Nord train heading to Barcelona Airport (Aeroport T2). This is a short ride of around 6-7 minutes. The overall journey from Sitges to Terminal 2 at Barcelona Airport takes roughly 50-60 minutes, depending on wait times between connections. The trains are generally punctual and frequent, so it’s a convenient option. Best,
