This hotel boasts a convenient location in the more modern part of Barcelona. However, it's a large convention hotel and there's very little service - expect long lines and lengthy waits. We were given a room with a smoked out window, little lighting, and the size of a closet. The air conditioning was broken and maintenence didn't fix it, nor did the hotel provide a fan. Despite the high price, customer service and interest was inexcusable. We had to go down to the lobby the next morning in order to get someone to even acknowledge the problem. While there's a nice breakfast buffet, don't be surprised if your order is forgotten.
We stayed at the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona GL and our experience was excellent! From the smooth check-in process to the views of La Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera from the terrace, our family of 5 adults and 1 child had a memorable stay! The staff were incredibly helpful right from the moment our airport transport van arrived, and the buffet breakfast offered a great selection. I would highly recommend this hotel for luxury travel.
We had a great experience while staying at this hotel as part of a large business group. Every detail was taken care of and the staff members were all very attentive. They seemed to anticipate every need and provide great service. From the Front Desk, to Maintenance, Breakfast staff, Concierge and more, everyone was really remarkable. We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Barcelona and would be happy to stay here again.
The staff at the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona GL were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our stay very pleasant. However, our experience in the dining areas of the hotel was less than satisfactory. We encountered delays in the quality and speed of service, and requested items like milk, syrup, and honey were not provided to us unless we asked multiple times. This resulted in our food getting cold and disrupting our meal experience. Despite this, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and the efficient help provided by the front desk and concierge service, made our stay enjoyable. It is my wish that the hotel can improve its food service to ensure future guests have a more seamless and satisfying experience.
Service is absolutely abysmal. Rang room service for a menu -- no answer. Contacted the front desk to be put through to them again -- no reply. Had to come down to the reception to get it printed out! Wanted to get a quick dinner in the restaurant listed as open for dinner, but it was set up for breakfast. The rooftop was closed, so headed to the bar. Went to the counter and asked if food was served, but the bartender ignored me while preparing a cocktail. Waited until a waitress came to collect her order and asked her. The bartender still didn't say a word, although I was the only one at the counter! Not sure where this place got its 5-star rating! Ended up going next door to the Alma Hotel which is the complete opposite in terms of service. It's so unfortunate that I have to spend two nights in this awful, pretentious establishment. For a great experience, go to Alma -- where I used to stay!
