Caldes de Malavella Calella de Palafrugell

Calella

Calella is the Capital City of Alt Maresme, a place for tourism without limits, day or night. People come here to have fun. It is a noisy place with lots of beaches, coffees, restaurants, discos. A place specially appreciated for German tourists. Every year, the city organizes "La Fiesta de La Cerveza" (German beer party).

I stayed in the hotel Esplai, where the staff is excellent, which needs a bit of modernisation. For example, tiles missing from walls, blue tiles falling from the swimming pool, updating the television channels with choice of languages.Hotel food is allright on fridays.During the rest of week is bellow average.Calella itself is a little place focused intirely to the turism, but not too well.If you want to shop make sure you buy only from places where the prices are displayed, local people obey the rules.Do you like pizza? Then go to Rollers, wonderfull.I had dinner at Casa Carlos, out of ten?Ten.The (sand) is to sharp in the beach, make sure you take some appropriate shoes.Be very carefull where you park, the local police will make you pay 95 euros so you can have your rental or not, car back. From what I saw parking on pavements.curves, zebra crossings are not infrigements. If you need any information ask the locals. The local tourism office is not very friendly.

great local market
Covered market. Very pleasant with the smell of flowers at the entrance. There are tables and chairs in the aisles so you can eat there. Coffee and potato tortillas available.

Best interior shop of Barcelona
I came across the most incredible store i have seen in a long time and I have been living im Barcelona for over 20 years. It’s called Pachulí Interior & Lifestyle and is situated in El Born. It’s a bit hidden which is a shame cause I think everyone should experience this authenticity and unique place. Just go and check it out already!!

free and it's well worth a visit.
A fine venue for free photo exhibitions on La Rambla, in a peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of this grand avenue. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or an amateur, it's well worth a visit.

simple and cool to visit
As I only had a day to visit, it was a simple and efficient way. Great air-conditioning on the lower floor of the bus. Well-organised and friendly welcome.

for the Gaudi buildings
For the Gaudi buildings but not for the shopping... very nice shops like everywhere else in the world, no interest.

impressed by this brilliant creator
As I learned more about Antoni Gaudí's life while visiting his works, I was deeply impressed by his devotion to architecture and his unique artistic vision. He was a passionate man who devoted his life to creating extraordinary buildings.

  4. Tra alti e bassi!! - pukka (26 Apr 2008 - 12:56)

  8. calella - carlo salerno (20 Aug 2007 - 00:21)

  9. discoteca turisme 35 - Viola e Flavia (1 Aug 2007 - 23:28)
