Barcelona neighborhoods

Barcelona is an incredibly rich city to visit. But before you head off to Gràcia, for example, a bohemian district with pedestrian streets and lively squares, we've put together a small selection of the districts most popular with tourists. All these districts are in Barcelona's city center:

> The Gothic Quarter: the historic heart of Barcelona, with its narrow streets, charming squares, Gothic churches and historic buildings.

> Les Ramblas: a wide, lively avenue linking Plaça de Catalunya to the port of Barcelona, lined with stores, cafés and restaurants.

> La Barceloneta: an old fishermen's district near the port of Barcelona, with a beautiful beach and many famous seafood restaurants.

> El Raval: a multicultural district with a lively nightlife, art galleries and the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA).

> L'Eixample: a middle-class district with many modernist buildings, including the famous Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Gaudí's Sagrada Familia.
