What does the "Port of Barcelona" refer to?
The term Port of Barcelona does not refer to a single tourist spot.
It can refer to the entire port area of the city, which includes the old port, cruise terminals, and commercial facilities.
For a visitor, the three main areas to remember are:
- Port Vell, for the old port and central attractions;
- the Olympic Port, for the beaches and marina;
- the cruise port, for the ships and terminals.
Clearly distinguishing these three areas helps avoid destination errors: you don't go to the same place for a stroll, a beach day, or to board a cruise ship.
Keep in mind: "Port of Barcelona" can refer to several very different areas.
