The 2023-2024 Champions League kicks off at Barcelona's Olympic Stadium. It's a rather favourable draw for FC Barcelona, who face three fine teams in Group H in the group phase. Among these matches, we are eagerly awaiting the FC Barcelona - Porto match, certainly the toughest to come!

Founded in 1893, FC Porto is one of the 'Big Three' clubs in Portuguese football, alongside SL Benfica and Sporting CP. The club has won numerous Portuguese league titles as well as the UEFA Champions League on two occasions. The first came in 1987 and the second in 2004, under coach José Mourinho.

The team is also known as the Dragões, after their stadium, which is a modern one with a capacity of around 50,000. A team accustomed to big stadiums and big events such as the "O Clássico", the match that pits them against the other great Portuguese champions, Benfica.

Porto finished second in the Portuguese championship in 2023, just two points behind leaders Benfica. Barça have already played Porto in the 2011 European Supercup (with goals from Messi and Fabregas). FC Porti are currently coached by Sérgio Conceição, with Diego Costa, Pepe, Mehdi Taremi and a former Blaugrana player, Nico González, at the forefront.

Barcelona had been warned, but this year, as in previous years, the team was in fine form. They finished first in the 2023 Spanish Championship, which they have now won 27 times in their history.

Although they have been less fortunate in the Champions League in recent years, they have won the competition five times. Barcelona have been looking for a win in this competition since 2015. Former player and current Blaugrana coach Xavi can count on strikers such as Lewandowski, Ansu Fati and Raphina, as well as 16-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal. They will also be counting on defender Andreas Christensen and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to thrill the crowd at Barcelona's Stadio Olimpico, the venue for Barça's home games this season.

> Or walk to the stadium: it's a 20-minute walk with escalators.
The Hop-on Hop-off Barcelona tourist bus drops you off in front of the stadium at the "Estadio Olímpico De Montjuïc" stop.

Our tips for enjoying a Barcelona match

> Get to the Barcelona Olympic Stadium at least one hour before the match.

> Find your seat number before arriving at the stadium so that you know how to get into the stadium. 

> Have your tickets ready at the entrance and make it easy to check your belongings.

> Be fair during the game. Attending a Barça match in Catalonia is a family affair, and inappropriate gestures or words are frowned upon.
