MEAM (European of Modern Art Museum) in Barcelona
A museum in the heart of El Born district, just 20 meters from the Picasso Museum. It is worth combining a visit to both museums.
The building is an old palace from 1790, perfectly restored, conserving paintings, reliefs and original woodwork, and has earned the FAD (Foment de les Arts i del Disseny) award.

MEAM: front ticket office workers - A tourist in Barcelona (23 Oct 2013 - 09:15)
Sunday, Oct 10, 2013. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the realism exhibit that was showing at the MEAM museum. It was a great exhibit. However, this was dampened by the two workers there - the male ticket issuer and another female worker. They both do not seem to enjoy their jobs while we were buying tickets and both workers seem to have an attitude problem. The female worker especially turned me off. While in the museum, I could not find the restroom and happened to open an unmarked door. The female worker was inside having lunch and turned around to greet me with a "Whaaat!!!" including the gestures with her hands and a pissed-off facial expression. I apologized for interrupting her lunch and said that I was just looking for the restroom. She then told me it was around the corner on my right. I believe the museum should look into this matter because they are not doing a good job in promoting themselves. (Unless they don't want too many people attending.)

My partner, a figuraitve sculptor, and I visited Meam on our recent visit to Barcelona. It is absolutely stunning and was probably the place we enjoyed the most. The collection is so varied and impressive.

While in Barcelona for several days ended up here twice. It was that enjoyable! An excellent reprise from the crowds at other sights in El Born. Enjoy!
just so real! - Claire (27 Oct 2011 - 14:15)
We were really amazed about this museum. Instead of paintings, we could have said it was a photography museum!
