Can Ramonet - Barcelona

Located in the Barceloneta just a few steps away from Barcelona beach, Can Ramonet is a tavern, founded in 1763, the oldest one in Barcelona.

Nothing left from the old decoration that is mainly made of barrel-top tables, boat stuff on the wall ... Fortunately the decorator is not the coock, we came there for tapas and we were delighted. The calçots are a wonder, grilled on wooden fire; we place them among the best of Barcelona... It's a pity that the sauce Romesco which accompanies them is completely insignificant: no pepper, no almonds... 50% of the pleasure in less... Be careful chef also with your Pà amb tomquet (bread with tomato) side large and insipid: unforgivable.

Good vibes on the other hand concerning the imposing bacalao, the roasted artichokes filled with crystallized garlic, the knives cooked with garlic and parsley, the octopus a la galego raised well. One thus remains on a beautiful impression.

Can Ramonet is just below Cal Pep.. A beautiful score. Next visit there, we will taste arroz and paellas... We will tell you.

Plateau de fruit de mer
DJEF (2 Apr 2013 - 00:45)

Too expensive for the quality of the food

Too expensive for the quality of the food. Spent 18 euros for a paella which was not as good as others I had in Barcelona for 10 or 12 euros.
I confirm that they bring dessert you did't order, which seemed to be in house but came in the bill. (furthermore it was some chocolate which tasted old).
To me, the worst culinary experience I had in Barcelona, for the highest price.

  7. Can ramonet barcelona - Frank (24 Jul 2010 - 14:50)

The fish was not bad but too expensive and afterwards we said we didn't want a dessert but the waiter came in a few minutes later and he put desserts on the Table and said it was on the house. We asked if it was free, he said; yes... And then the bill came; OMG! AND THE DESSERTS WERE ON IT!!! DON'T GO THERE!!

  11. can ramonet - beaujolais (1 Feb 2008 - 14:27)

we had amazing seafood and amazing fresh fish, (one plate seafood and one plate fish each for one person, together about 55 Euros), it was the best seafood plate I had in my Life.
, and a very good (and cheap) bottle of white wine. We did not have any problems with the service and I even enjoyed the oysters -- and usually I dont like them.
    We will go there again

Paella marinera buona, dessert buono.
Conto salato. Ma ne valeva la pena.

  13. Can Ramonet - Dominique (23 Oct 2007 - 08:39)

  14. Can Ramonet Barcelona - Graham Turner (4 Apr 2007 - 21:00)

Appalling food, starters obviously left by the chef to be warmed later (but they couldn't even get that right), tired salad obviously prepared hours earlier, lobster costing 83 Euros was not cooked properly, ditto cod, incompetent waiter who brought the wrong wine twice (and also to the next table). Awful, awful, awful, ruined our trip to Barcelona. Avoid this place at ALL costs.
