Which Dalí ticket should you choose?
The Entry Ticket for a Self-Guided Tour
Choose the entry if you enjoy taking your time in front of the artworks. The museum is experienced as a whole: rooms, objects, and displays contribute as much to the experience as the paintings. The entry product also includes the Dalí Jewelry collection. Its digital guide of the Dalinian Triangle is available in English: it is a digital document, not an accompanied museum tour.
The Guided Tour to Understand the Works
A guided tour can help you interpret the symbols and perspective tricks. The provided link gathers the museum's guided offers; the language, meeting point, and duration depend on the chosen option. The language of the booking page does not guarantee the language of the guide. Also, check if the ticket allows for free time after the guided tour.
The House of Portlligat to Extend the Journey
The house offers access to another aspect of Dalí: his living and working environment with Gala, near the sea. The Portlligat ticket does not replace the one for Figueres. If you wish to visit both, book two slots that accommodate travel time. The three tickets offered on this page do not include transportation from Barcelona or transfers between locations.
Our advice: start by choosing your location and date. Then compare the inclusions and ticket conditions, rather than relying solely on the word "Dalí" in its title.

What to see at the Theatre-Museum of Figueres?
Inaugurated in 1974 on the remains of the old municipal theater, the museum was designed by Dalí as a unique experience. Its red façade crowned with eggs sets the tone: you enter a creation where architecture, paintings, and objects interact. You don't need to know the entire biography of the painter to appreciate this visual freedom.
The Courtyard and the Stage Under the Dome
The courtyard, featuring the Rainy Cadillac, is one of the landmarks of the tour. In the space of the old theater, the stage and the dome give the museum its spectacular dimension. Take the time to view the whole before seeking out each detail: the changes in scale and unexpected juxtapositions are part of the enjoyment of the visit.
The Mae West Room and the Palace of the Wind
The Mae West Room transforms decor elements into a face depending on the viewpoint. The Palace of the Wind invites you to look up at the ceiling. These spaces demonstrate why the theater-museum is visited differently than just a simple series of painting rooms. The official map helps you locate the floors and ensure you don't miss the spaces you wish to see.

The interior courtyard decorations
Our advice: alternate between large installations and smaller rooms. With family, look for illusions and unusual details, then let everyone choose the artwork that surprises them the most.

How to get to Figueres and Cadaqués from Barcelona?
The three tickets presented on this page do not include transportation from Barcelona or travel between the museums. Train, bus, and any transfers need to be arranged and paid for separately.
Barcelona → Figueres: opt for the train
From Barcelona-Sants, high-speed trains reach Figueres-Vilafant in about an hour, depending on the service. This station is located outside the center: continue by TEISA shuttle or taxi, then head to the theater-museum. Do not book a museum slot immediately after the train's arrival; account for the shuttle wait and the final journey to the entrance.
Regional trains serve another station, simply called Figueres, closer to the center and the bus station. The journey from Barcelona is longer. Therefore, check the exact name of the arrival station, the schedules, and the return ticket before booking your visit.
Barcelona → Cadaqués: direct bus from Barcelona Nord
Moventis/Sarfa offers a connection from the Barcelona Nord bus station, near Arc de Triomf. The consulted services indicate about 2 hours and 45 minutes to Cadaqués; this duration is indicative and depends on the service and traffic. Check departures and returns for your date before setting the time for the Dalí house.
The bus arrives in Cadaqués, not directly in front of the house-museum. The Foundation places the bus station about 2 km from Portlligat: add this final journey and present yourself at the house at least 30 minutes before the reserved time, according to the ticket instructions.
Traveling to Cadaqués via Figueres
Another option is to take the train to Figueres and then a Moventis bus to Cadaqués. If you arrive by high-speed train at Figueres-Vilafant, you must first reach the central bus station. This station change, the bus wait, and the journey to Portlligat add to the trip: do not plan two visits in a row without checking all connections.
By car: allow extra time for the final leg
For Figueres, follow the AP-7 then the signs to the city and park before walking to the museum: the center has restricted traffic streets. For Cadaqués, continue from the Figueres area towards Roses via the C-260, then the GI-614. The last portion is winding; during busy periods, anticipate slowdowns and parking. Allow extra time before the Portlligat slot.
Schedules and transport reservations: Renfe, Moventis to Cadaqués and Figueres-Vilafant shuttle.
Plan a Dalí Day Trip from Barcelona
For an independent visit, book your round-trip transportation separately from the museum tickets. The three offers presented on this page do not include travel from Barcelona or transfers between locations.
For a first-time visit, dedicating the day to Figueres allows for more flexibility between travel and visiting. Adding Portlligat requires tighter planning: Tiqets advises allowing at least an hour's drive from Figueres to the house, in addition to the requirement to arrive 30 minutes before your time slot. Parking, walking, and traffic should also be factored into this margin.
The Foundation recommends at least two days to explore the three museums. Save Púbol for another visit if you only have one day. For a trip combining art and coastline, you can also spread Figueres and Cadaqués over two days.

Practical Questions for Visiting the Dalí Museums
Photos, luggage, accessibility, and services: essential rules to prepare for your visit.
Yes, without flash. Tripods, selfie sticks, and professional equipment are prohibited. Publishing or commercial use of images taken inside may require authorization from the Foundation; photographing during the visit does not automatically grant the right to distribute these images.
Items larger than 35 × 35 × 25 cm, bulky luggage, backpacks, and strollers are not allowed in the visitor areas. There is a cloakroom available, but it does not accept all items: do not rely on it to store a large suitcase.
In Figueres, only part of the theater-museum is accessible, including the courtyard, the space under the dome, and Dalí-Jewels. Notify the museum before your visit. The house in Portlligat cannot be visited in a wheelchair due to its narrow and uneven stairs. Check the accessibility conditions of the Foundation before booking.
Not for those under 16: they must be accompanied by an adult. With young children, also consider the prohibition of strollers in the visiting areas and the stairs of the Portlligat house.
Pets are not allowed. Accredited guide dogs are permitted. If you are traveling with an animal, please arrange for pet care before your visit.
No, none of the three Dalí museums have a café or restaurant. Eating and drinking inside the buildings is also prohibited. Plan your break before or after your visit.
The theater-museum does not offer an audio guide service. Do not confuse this service with the digital guide of the Dalinian Triangle in English mentioned in some offers: this document is not an audio tour of the museum.
No. The Dalí museums do not offer this monthly free admission. To find out about any free admissions you may be eligible for and the required documentation, please check the conditions of the specific museum.
