Stunnig view of the sea, the beach and the city..

The second W Hotel established in Europe is the one of Barcelona: W Barcelona opened its doors in October 2009 and one can say that it has already reached the reputation of its famous predecessors of the Starwood Group… Called the Sail, this building designed by the Master Ricardo Bofill is ideally located on the beach, on the entry of the port, in the district of Barceloneta.


Located on the beachfront in the Barceloneta area of Barcelona, W Hotel is, since its opening, the new icon of the city. Could you imagine a kind a sail, set on the sea at the entrance to the Port of Barcelona? A great design from catalan architect Ricardo Bofill known for other projects in Barcelona like the Diagonal Mar renovation, the Olympic Village apartments or more lately the magistral Terminal 1 at Barcelona airport. As a loyal Starwood customer, having spent over 1000 nights at their properties in the past decade, I was disappointed by my recent stay in Barcelona. Despite its name, the hotel lacks the quality and service associated with the brand. The furnishings were worn and unkempt, giving off a less than desirable impression. The hotel's change in ownership, now under Marriott, has brought about a shift in culture, where the focus seems to be more on profits rather than providing a satisfactory experience for guests. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel or any other under the Marriott or Bonvoy name. I will be seeking alternative accommodations for my future travels.

Such an unfergetable stay at the icoicn W Barcelona, I was attendeng IBTM and I've choosen to stay at W even if its not the cloest hotel to the exhition (Fira de Barcelona I guess), grait location over the bich, nise restorants (I triyed both the al day dining and KOWA). Prior to my arival I've requisted for erly chek-in and the tem were kind enough to accomodate my request...I wuld do enything to stay in W agin and enjoy the fascenating views of the rooms. Thank U W Tem.

During our 6-day stay in Barcelona, we were blown away by the beauty and perfect location of our hotel. Honestly, we could have spent our entire trip without even leaving the premises. We were lucky enough to meet some truly wonderful staff members who made our stay unforgettable. One standout was Francisco, who gave us some of the best bar recommendations. We also loved spending time with Eudra and Jenni, who were always so pleasant and welcoming. And let's not forget Anne, who kept us coming back to Coye. The team at Noxe, Carla, Liam, and Louise, were also amazing and we loved seeing them there. Needless to say, we can't wait to come back here.

Upon arrival, we were met with a surprising lack of professionalism from the front desk staff. 😤 Despite our room being cancelled without any prior notice, their attitude was aggressive and unapologetic. 😠 It was only when a room later became available that we were given one, making their claim of being fully booked false. 🙄 No effort was made to rectify the situation and they showed no concern for our satisfaction as guests. 🤨 In the end, they simply blamed reservations being off for the day. 😒 Needless to say, my stay was a major letdown and did not meet the usual standards associated with this hotel chain. 💔 My name is Ahmed Abouelela and I stayed in room 1006.

The room was 🔥, we had a gorgeous room on a high floor with an 🤩 view. However, we had some 🚨 issues that put a damper on our stay. Our room was 💸 charged incorrectly and getting a refund for the fraudulent charges was a 🕵️‍♀️. Thankfully, management 👏 helped us and we eventually got a refund, but it was a hassle of 🥊 and 📞/📧. Sadly, it has left a bitter taste about the hotel. I wouldn't 🛏️ here again when there are so many other fabulous hotels in Barcelona.
