Sixties Ramblas

About
The Ramblas with a vintage atmosphere
This time the hotel chain Chic & Basic, which we greatly appreciate, has created a vintage atmosphere from the 60s and is located just off the Ramblas. With a young and colorful decoration with a big sense of humor, and above all thought to be pleasant with nice rooms, air conditioned and quiet. We love the bicycle hire, free wifi and private parking ..

Located in a bustling area of Barcelona, this hotel may not be the most convenient for drivers. However, it is conveniently close to popular streets and lively entertainment spots. The vintage elevators gave off a fun 60's vibe and the entrance to the rooms added to this ambiance. However, upon entering our room, we were disappointed to see a lack of artwork or decorations, leaving it feeling cold and empty. Additionally, the worn and dirty curtains were a letdown. The hidden stove and sink in the closet also seemed impractical, and the kitchenette lacked basic necessities such as utensils and cleaning supplies. If all you need is a place to sleep, this hotel may suffice, but for those seeking more, it may be best to look elsewhere. It would be beneficial for management to renovate and improve the rooms and amenities.
This accommodation, considering its cost, was extremely simple. It should be noted that the description provided by the booking website was not entirely accurate. The room was lacking in warmth and furnishings, and the white curtains were far from clean. In addition, the kitchenettes in all rooms were not functional. While the reception staff were kind and helpful, there was not much they could do to improve the overall experience. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our trip in Spain, and unfortunately, it was also the worst. The only positive aspect was its convenient location.
Exceptional for families and those looking for a convenient stay. The staff at the front desk and bar/breakfast were consistently hospitable and kind. The fact that we were allowed to check in early was greatly appreciated. Its location was just a short walk from the Drassanes metro stop, which is on the green line that effortlessly takes you up La Rambla and beyond. This made it incredibly easy for us to reach all of Gaudi's popular sites and various shopping options. We particularly enjoyed the quick access to the Gothic Quarter without constantly being surrounded by tourists, as well as being able to easily reach the port. We always prioritize location, affordability, and hygiene when selecting accommodations.
During our recent trip to Barcelona, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the charming Sixties Ramblas Hotel. Located at the bottom of La Rambla, the hotel boasts a perfect location between the Gothic Quarter and El Raval. We were delighted to find that many of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods, such as Barceloneta, El Born, and L’Eixample, were easily accessible by foot. And for those looking to soak up some sun, the beach was just a quick trek away.
One of the highlights of our stay was the spacious rooms. We were lucky enough to have a room with a full balcony, which may not have had the best view, but provided a lovely private outdoor space for us to enjoy. The breakfast at the hotel was simple yet delicious, a perfect way to start our days of exploring.
But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional staff. From the warm welcome upon our arrival to the attentive service throughout our stay, everyone we encountered was friendly and accommodating. A special shout-out goes to Jacob, who went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs. We were truly impressed by his professionalism and kindness.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the Sixties Ramblas Hotel and would not hesitate to return on our next visit to Barcelona. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in this vibrant city.
We were searching for a spot to hav a brek and hve some lunch. We just happend to glance down a sid street and cud c what we thort was a bar/restaurant. At the tyme we didnt reallise this was a hotel as the estaet in the aera was jst full of native ppl having lunch. The menu of the day was 3 cousres for €12 - awsome valu and delish! Even if you didnt want the 3 cousres the food and drinks were inexpensive. A awsome find and great athmosphere.
