Our recent experience at the apartments in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Barcelona was extremely disappointing. In fact, we were left with no choice but to report our concerns to the appropriate tourist authorities. After 35 years of holidaying, we have never stayed at a more dreadful place. The so-called beds, if they can even be called that, were uncomfortable steel frames with hard, concrete mattresses. And don't even get us started on the lack of warm water. We were barely able to wash, let alone take a shower. The steep and narrow stairs also posed a serious safety hazard. Not to mention the overall dank and gloomy atmosphere of the place, which is far from appropriate for a vacation stay. Despite voicing our complaints and explaining the importance of warm water for our two young children, the management refused to take responsibility, claiming it was our fault for using up the water. To make matters worse, they accused us of being threatening and displayed an aggressive attitude towards us. Needless to say, we were utterly appalled by their behavior. Our advice? Steer clear of this place and look for better alternatives within the same price range. Don't let these people ruin your hard-earned holiday dollars.

This accommodation was a huge letdown. We were expecting a comfortable stay for our family, but what we found was quite the opposite. With zero security, no reception staff, and serious hygiene and cleanliness issues, it was an uncomfortable experience. We would strongly advise against booking here, especially if you have children. Do your research and check out reviews before you move.

Apartaments Ciutat Vella was a great place to stay during our visit to Barcelona. Located just off La Rambla and close to the Metro Liceu, this hotel is an ideal spot for exploring the city. The apartments were nicely decorated, quite spacious and had a compact kitchen. Although the side street where the hotel is situated looks more like an alley, making it a little sketchy at night, we still felt safe. The building is long and narrow, with steep and uneven stairs, but thankfully there is an elevator! Reception is only open 8:00-14:30, so if you arriving after those hours it’s best to call ahead to make sure you can find it; there are no signs indicating it’s a hotel. Overall our stay was comfortable and we would happily return.

drawers. We recommend this apartment as a great value.

We stayed at Apartaments Ciutat Vella for a week and had a wonderful time! The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with great features like dark wood shutters and a microwave. The location was very central and accessible, with walking distance to a variety of attractions - La Pedrera, Palau National de la Música, Museo Picasso and Park Ciutidella. The receptionists were all helpful and friendly, and there was always clean towels available. The kitchen was well-equipped, though there was no oven. We also were impressed with the number of closets in the room that allowed us to hang clothes, though there were no drawers. Overall, we had a great stay and recommend this apartment for its great value and central location.

We had the pleasure of staying at Apartaments Ciutat Vella in June 2019. The convenient location of the apartments made it easy to explore the area. We had two apartments and they were both very spacious, clean and well kept, it felt so nice to be able to relax in the evening after a day of sightseeing! 30 seconds from La Rambla, this place couldn't be in a better spot! The friendly staff was available up to 2.30pm each day and were always willing to help. Despite being in the heart of the city, the noise levels in the apartments were not an issue. Such an enjoyable stay, we would definitely visit here again.
