As a recent guest at a city hotel in Barcelona, I had high expectations for the quality of my stay, as I have experienced with this hotel chain in the past. However, I was pleasantly surprised when my stay exceeded my expectations. Despite its unassuming appearance from the outside, this hotel is ideally located within walking distance to the beach and the iconic Sagrada Familia. Despite being in a central location, the hotel was quiet and I had no issues with noise during my stay, even with the window open at night.

I must mention the excellent communication I had with the reservation department, particularly with Mr. Aleix Pendered, who was always available to assist me via phone or email. The reception staff were also commendable, managing a medium-sized group of guests with ease, even during busy times such as during a marathon and FC Barcelona matches.

The lobby bar staff were always friendly and accommodating, letting us know when the bar was closing and taking our orders with a smile. The breakfast provided by the hotel was up to the standard I have come to expect from this chain, although I did feel that an extra staff member could have been added during busy times.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern furnishings, including amenities such as a safe, minibar, and ironing board. The towels were changed automatically every day, which was a nice touch. The interiors of the hotel were modern and stylish, matching the photos shown online. The hallways were always clean and the elevators and carpets looked new, in comparison to my stay at an H10 hotel in Madrid.

The hotel staff, including the night security, reception, and service staff, all deserve a 10/10 for their friendly and attentive service. I also had the chance to use the spa, which was always busy and required advanced booking. Additionally, the hotel also offers electric bicycles, regular bicycles, and scooters for guests to rent.

In terms of any negatives, there were only two small issues I experienced. Firstly, the air conditioning only works during certain times of the year, which meant the room could get slightly overheated. Secondly, I was unable to charge breakfast and other purchases to my room and pay for them at checkout, even with my H10Club card. This may have been an inconvenience, but it is always wise to have some cash or a credit card on hand when staying at this hotel.

Overall, this hotel was one of the best I have stayed at in Barcelona, ranking top out of the six hotels I have stayed at in the city. If available, I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future. My overall rating for this hotel is a perfect 10/10.

Upon arrival, we were taken aback by the construction site next to our accommodation. However, our stay started off on a positive note as our room was ready when we arrived at 1pm. Our Junior Suite surprised us with its spaciousness, amenities, and quietness. It seemed like the air conditioning was in winter mode, but we managed with the fan on. The TV only had two English channels (news), which were not connected to the WiFi, although the hotel's internet connection was excellent. We were granted access to the Privilege room, which was equipped with a television and a larger minibar than our room. In addition, we were provided with three wines, Cava, and a selection of snacks from 8am to 10pm. This saved us a substantial amount on drinks at the bar during our stay. However, one night, we ordered a draft Estrella as my wife enjoyed the two free cocktails we received. Unfortunately, it tasted flat. The spa pleasantly surprised us with its free access, which we utilized a few times. The pictures make it seem like there is only a pool, but there is more to it than that. The cleanliness and quality were top-notch - a definite five-star experience. The complimentary breakfast was abundant, with a wide variety of options. The manageress, Sabine (if I remember correctly), was always warm and welcoming, a true asset to the hotel staff. The location was in a quieter area, but it was easy to travel around. Unfortunately, there was not much to do without venturing to the marina area. The hop-on, hop-off bus stop was just a five-minute walk and the metro was about ten minutes away. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, it was a nice touch to receive a bottle of Brut delivered to our room. We ended up dining at the hotel most of the time as the bar food was tasty and reasonably priced. Now, onto the negatives that affected my rating. Firstly, the shower lacked any water pressure - it was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Secondly, the minibar was supposed to be restocked daily, but I had to ask reception multiple times. On the day of our anniversary, we decided to have dinner at the main restaurant. However, there were huge conferences happening on most days, and the restaurant was filled with hundreds of people. We were shown to a table for four, which was split in two for some reason, even though the restaurant was not busy. The table we were left with was wobbly, so we moved to the other half. However, no one came to take our order for thirty minutes. Frustrated, we left and ordered food at the bar. Unfortunately, it was so noisy from the open-plan design that the bartender, Daniel, missed my order, even though he claimed he repeated it back to me (which he did not). After reporting these issues to reception and requesting to speak to the General Manager the next day, we received no contact from the management team. As a member of the hotel chain, I expected better customer service. The privilege room, although open to all guests with access, tended to get crowded, and the drinks and snacks ran out quickly. Additionally, some guests were seen letting others into the area, as it was not monitored. When trying to get the room restocked, we were told to speak to the bar. Unfortunately, the person in charge, Fode, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Despite the lack of customers at the bar, he informed us that they were busy and would restock when they could. However, I must mention that Blanca was a star and a credit to the hotel - she did her best to assist us. Overall, we will not be returning to any hotel in this chain. We would much rather stay at a Hilton, Radisson, IHG, or Marriott.

The nearby construction was a major inconvenience and made our vacation anything but tranquil. The loud noises began at 8am and continued until 5:45pm today. The hotel staff informed us that there was nothing they could do about it. Based on the ongoing construction, it appears this will continue for a while. Aside from this issue, the hotel could have been satisfactory.

Our recent trip to Spain included a stay at a hotel in Barcelona, and it was a great choice for our tour group. The check-in process was quick and efficient, with keys already prepared and labeled for us. The room was cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable. As part of a tour, we weren't aware of the exact cost for the stay. We didn't dine at the hotel's restaurant, but the breakfast the next morning was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options. The air conditioning couldn't be adjusted to a very low setting, which seems to be common in European hotels. However, opening the window provided enough cool air for a good night's sleep. Taxis were always available right outside the hotel, and the rates were reasonable. The location is walking distance from the marina and we found the area to be quiet at night. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Paula who went above and beyond to assist us. Overall, we would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

Our stay at a hotel in Barcelona's Privilege Junior Suite was truly outstanding. The staff at the front desk greeted us warmly with a glass of champagne and every detail, from the spacious and bright room to the comfortable king-sized bed, contributed to an unforgettable experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary and daily restocked mini-bar and the bathroom amenities, including Earth collection shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, and body milk. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 20-25 minute walk from the Gothic Quarter. As members of the hotel's club, we were delighted to receive a welcome amenity of champagne, Lindt chocolates, and H10 chocolates, making us feel even more exclusive. The lounge was a perfect escape, offering snacks, sandwiches, and a variety of drinks throughout the day, including beer and wine. The spa was of exceptional quality, but we recommend making reservations in advance. We were also pleased to discover that guests staying in Privilege rooms have complimentary access to the spa, adding even more value to our stay. Overall, this hotel truly offers a luxurious sanctuary with friendly service and considerate amenities.
