Which monuments can be seen for free?
Admiring a façade from the street doesn't require purchasing an interior visit ticket. On Passeig de Gràcia, you can observe Casa Batlló, Casa Amatller, and Casa Milà as you stroll along. Casa Calvet also allows you to discover a Gaudí façade without organizing a house-museum visit.
In the old town, the surroundings of the cathedral, the façade of Santa Maria del Mar, and the Columbus Monument are other sights to enjoy from public spaces. These outdoor discoveries do not provide access to interiors, terraces, or paid areas.
For free interior access, check the specific conditions for each monument: time slots, reservations, and access for worship may be subject to different rules. Parc Güell should not be presented as a free and open tourist visit.

FAQ: Visiting the Monuments of Barcelona
No. The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia is located in the Gothic Quarter. The Sagrada Família is the basilica designed by Gaudí in the Eixample. These are two separate monuments, each with its own tours and access conditions.
Our advice is to limit indoor visits to two major monuments and complement them with walks. Group your stops by neighborhood and allow some time between slots, especially if you need to cross the city.
If a visit is essential to your itinerary, book your time slot in advance to plan your day. Check the monument's information page to verify availability, included areas, and ticket conditions.
