    somos estudiantes inglesas de espanol y nos gustan sus palabras. Estamos de acuerdo que la palabra suburb no significa lo mismo en Inglaterra que en espanol, de hecho es una palabra Americana y en ingles no se utiliza mucho

    Bueno si Catalunya es un 19% del PIB Espanyol y este es 20 millones de euros, asi nos va... Sera millardos de millones (lo que los anglosajones llaman billon)!
    En fin, tengo otra curiosidad porque poneis datos del PIB de 2002 y datos de paro del 2010? Al mismo tiempo que buscais datos de paro no podeis acutalizar el PIB? estan en el mismo sitio....

    Estoy de acuerdo contigo, que para nada somos marginados los que vivimos a las afueras de Barcelona.

    Un suburbio es un barrio, sector o comuna alejado del centro de la ciudad, especialmente el que constituye una zona pobre ajena a la ciudad, específicamente, ubicado en la periferia de ésta. La palabra "suburbio" en español no es equivalente a la palabra "suburb" en ingles. En español se refiere a zonas marginadas y degradadas, en cambio "suburb" en Inglés se refiere a zonas residenciales

    Me parece fatal el uso de la palabra Suburbio porque evoca marginalidad y pobreza, y no es el caso del área Metropolitana del Barcelona, me parece una falta de respeto para la gente que habita en esa zona.
    Es una mala traducción del inglés Suburb.
