Barcelona leads hotel performance during the first nine months of the year in Spain, according to a report by the Department of Studies of the Hotel School of Sant Pol de Mar (Barcelona).

The data provided by the university shows that the occupancy rate of Barcelona reaches 77.5% through September, which represents a considerable increase over the result for the same period in 2014, which was 74.9%.

This percentage puts Barcelona hotel occupancy 5.1 points above the Spanish average. Instead Madrid recorded 68.1%, 4.3 points below the state average.

Barcelona's leadership is confirmed both in ADR (average daily rate) and RevPAR (revenue per available room), says the research team of the Hotel School of Sant Pol. Thus the Catalan capital records an average ADR of 130.03 euros and a RevPar of 100.75, while Madrid has an average of 90.89 and 61.88 euros, respectively.
