Panot
The most emblematic of the souvenirs of Barcelona
Temporarily closed
For lovers of souvenirs of Barcelona, Panot is definitely the shop not to be missed in Barcelona.
As the name suggests, this store only talks about one thing: panots.
The panots are those small slabs of the typical sidewalks of Barcelona, especially in the Eixample. As you walked through Barcelona you certainly walked on it.
The most classic panot, is made up of 5 circles which represent a rose with 4 petals: it is "La rosa di Barcelona". Its origin is generally attributed to the pavement of the Casa Amatller created by the Modernist architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch in 1900. This design of tiles was then used to pave the main streets of Barcelona. As early as 1906 the city of Barcelona authorized several different designs: striated, a simple circle or even a cross. But it was the rose of Barcelona that became famous.
At Panot this symbol of the city is offered in the form of tiles of course but also printed on t-shirts, keychains, necklaces, bracelets, jewelry ...
We also find these pretty little panot and other objects, inspired this time by Antoni Gaudí, at La Capell the reference of souvenirs of Barcelona shop, only 200 meters from Panot.
