Quality tapas in the emblematic Ramblas

La Rambla de Barcelona is popular for tourists and locals. It has its own charm with the beautiful La Boqueria Market, the flowers & press kiosks, but beware of the crowd and the cheap eats. You have many very touristic restaurants where you get the menu in pictures; tapas, paellas and sangria at exorbitant prices.

Here I offer you something different. Ultramarinos belongs to the Group Lombardo with various outlets around town: Taller de Tapas, Casa Delfin or Ajo Blanco.
Lazaro Rosa Violan, a well-known interior designer who creates atmospheres, is behind the wonderful decoration of Ultramarinos.  This tapas place with a wonderful bar, a copy of their sister restaurant Ajo Blanco, offers something different than their neighbour restaurants. With a friendly and young staff, an amazing decor with trees and lamps, modern tapas, the combination is just magical. On weekends they have live music or DJ’s.The name Ultramarinos comes from the original small grocery stores that used to sell various type of food products, small "colmados".

Opened the full day it has diverse spaces to organize lunches or dinners. A little island on its own in the vibrant Ramblas. They have different tapas and a good choice for vegetarians as well. Their fried aubergine served with goat cheese topped with agave nectar & grated lime is wonderful; their tapas vary from 2 to 20€ depending on the products. They have different paellas as well from 14€ pp. You can have a good meal for around 25€. You could even go for a drink; their cocktails are great.
It is a big space and is perfect to organize big reunions or company’s dinners.
They offer group menus from 35€pp onwards.
