La Castanya
Tapas in the Gothic Quarter
La Castanya is a restaurant specialized in original and creative tapas, that have an overlook at the Mediterranean cuisine with very tasty plates.
This place stated out as a hamburger bar, evolving to a more gourmet cuisine, where market ingredients have a real meaning.
As a curiosity, all cold courses are prepared at the bar in front of the clients. You can see how they create amazing presentations just before your eyes.
The a la carte is large and varied, always being perfect to share portions and tapas, so you can taste a bit of many different things. In general, the Mediterranean taste is found on most tapas, but we can also find some touches of other countries like Italian one.
Some examples like the homemade chicken croquettes, the calamari at three different temperatures or the solomillo de ibérico with tomato chutney, will make meat lovers have a bowl!
A great variety of rice plates, dishes based on season vegetables or fish tapas. They always have a home creative touch on all Mediterranean tapas.
An original proposal would be the Caprese salad, different from normally found salads, served over a black stone. The caprese is composed with fresh mozzarella balls, kumato potatoes and an original mint pastry, surprisingly green, and all with a salmorejo for a perfect touch.
Desserts are homemade and delicious, so let yourself indulge with some sweet.
