What to Expect
Barcelona’s skyline is unthinkable without its outstanding landmark, the Sagrada Família, just like a stay in the city is unthinkable without a visit to Gaudí’s most extraordinary masterpiece.

Construction of the architect’s very individualistic interpretation of a gothic church started in 1882 and is famous for its unusually long time of construction but, even more so, for its unparalleled design. 135 years after laying the first stone still unfinished, it impresses the visitor with its originality and wealth of form and detail, in which Gaudi harmoniously combined Christian iconography and naturalistic elements. The Nativity Facade, the first to be finished in 1930 and declared World Heritage in 2005, depicts the birth of Jesus and is richly decorated with scenes from nature. The 75 metre high columns in the basilica rise to the ceiling and branch out, resembling trees, and walking down the light-flooded central nave of the basilica evokes the sensation of strolling through a forest.

Although incomplete, the Sagrada Família is without a doubt Barcelona’s most popular tourist attraction and receives millions of visitors each year. In order to ensure a pleasant visit for everyone, the monument assigns timeslots, which should be reserved in advance. Your admission also includes a visit to the adjoining school and the museum. Gaudí’s former workshop, which has been turned into a visitor centre, documents the construction of the Sagrada Família with models, drawings and photographs on display.

How does it work?
When you book your entrance ticket, please select the date and  time you would like to visit.

The timeslot only fixes the time you enter the building. Once inside, you can stay as long as you want.

historic quarter with bars and restaurants

What to expect

Narrow side streets, hidden courtyards as well as majestic city palaces and open squares along with a dazzling array of bars and restaurants make up the charming atmosphere of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. So come with us on a walk through the old town, discover a vital part of the city’s history and follow your guide through the quarter’s labyrinthine alleys into the heart of Barcelona.

Together with the quarters Raval and Barceloneta, el Barrio Gótico makes up the old town of Barcelona, whose many historic buildings stem from the 14th and 15th century, the city’s heyday as a naval power. However, its origins go all the way back to Roman times under emperor Augustus. In the centre at Plaça Sant Jaume, where today Barcelona’s town hall and the Catalan government building stand proudly vis-à-vis, the Roman Forum once had its place and the quarter’s Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia was built on the remains of a Roman temple. Starting in the late 19th century, the Gothic quarter underwent massive restoration works and, just in time for the 1929 International Exhibition, regained its original splendour, which still attracts tourists and locals today.

Sagrada Familia Tickets + English Audioguide + Towers
from€34.00

This famous Roman Catholic church in the heart of the city was designed by revered Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí who is widely thought of as the most famous architect and resident of Barcelona.

The construction of the church began in 1882, but it was only in 1883 when Gaudí became involved and combined the Gothic and Curvilinear Art Nouveau forms that the building took on its signature style. Nowadays the Sagrada Familia has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in November 2010 it was consecrated and proclaimed a minor basilica by the Pope.

Tourists and visitors to Barcelona flock to the Sagrada Familia daily to take in all its riches, but this results in long waiting lines which can last up to up to 2 hours. This can waste your precious time in this amazing city, and so we recommend buying your tickets online. When you arrive at Sagrada Familia, simply show the tickets on your mobile phone and you can enjoy fast track access. This means that you can enjoy your time in the Sagrada Familia without any of the stress!

How does it work?
Sagrada Familia is also the home of a range of facades called the Nativity Facade, the Passion Facade, and the Glory Facade. Each facade has a series of towers as part of the design which are a must-visit attraction in addition to the main section of Sagrada Familia.

To visit the towers simply select a timeslot for entrance. There is no time limit on how long you can stay inside the Sagrada Familia and your audio guide will be presented to you when you arrive. Along with your selected timeslot for entrance you will also get a timeslot for entrance for the towers. The visit to the towers depends on availability. The Passion Tower will be the first choice, but if this is not available, then the Nativity Tower will be automatically selected.

It is very simple. Just select a timeslot when you would like to visit the Sagrada Familia. Once you have entered the Sagrada Familia, then you can stay as long as you want.

Audioguide is available in the following languages: Catalan (CA), Spanish (ES), English (EN), French (FR), German (DE), Italian (IT), Chinese (ZH), Japonese (JA), Portuguese (PT), Russian (RU), Hungarian (HU), Korean (KO), Swedish (SV), Finnish (FI), Dutch (NL) and Polish (PL).

If you are visiting in a group of more than 9 people, please contact us at info@tickebar.eu

Take a video-guided tour through the museum with original pieces of furniture and art.

What to Expect:

Located at prestigious Passeig de Gràcia, Casa Amatller constitutes together with Casa Batlló and Casa Lleó-Morera, Barcelona’s so called ‘Manzana de la Discòrdia’ (bone of contention), a sign that the modernist buildings didn’t always find approval at the time of their construction. Today, the three Art Nouveau houses belong to Barcelona’s proud cultural heritage and attract thousands of visitors every year.

Commissioned by Antoni Amatller i Costa, a wealthy chocolatier and art collector, Casa Amatller was rebuilt between 1898 and 1900 by celebrated architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, who turned it into one of the most remarkable showpieces of modernist architecture. The neo-classical building combines elements of Catalan modernism, like rich ornamentation, wrought iron works and stained glass windows, with influences of Dutch architecture. Great parts of the building’s ornaments refer to the history of the owner’s family and reflect his interests, like photography, travelling and art.

Between 2009 and 2014, Casa Amatller was restored according to original plans and invites you today to a tour around its museum. Its furnishings with original pieces and artwork as well as the informative video tour make it easy to imagine the life of the Amatller family in their residence in turn-of-the-century Barcelona.

At the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century Casa Batllo, Casa Mila and Casa Vicens was build by the famous architecture Gaudi. Nowadays these buildings are icons in the city because they are so unique and creative.

Casa Batlló

The colourful Casa Batlló, a house from the 19th century renovated in the well-known modernist style, is one of many masterpieces of Gaudí in Barcelona. The interior of the house is just as exceptional as the exterior of the building. The building has become a famous landmark in Barcelona and is open to the public. The Casa Batlló was awarded the 2004 Europa Nostra Award for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005. Undoubtedly worth a visit.

Casa Mila

Casa Mila or 'La Pedrera' (meaning 'stone quarry' in Catalan) was built between 1905 and 1910 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage landmark in 1984. Casa Mila is one of the most remarkable works of Antoni Gaudí. The eccentric design is inspired by his love to nature. Along the exterior of the building, the irregular balconies give the impression of a series of waves. The upper floor, the attic and the extraordinary rooftop are open to visitors. Drawings, models, photographs and videos are used to portray the life of the great Gaudí, his historical and cultural context, and the artistic values and technical innovation of his work.

Casa Vicens

This is the hidden gem of Barcelona that every person should see. It recently opened and the architecture will blow you away. He totally invented a new style and a new start in his career.

Casa Vicens Guided Tour
from€15.50

This guided tour will take you to know the first house built by Antoni Gaudí, a house with an unusual oriental and Mudejar aroma, covered with spectacular green and white tiles.

Casa Vicens was built as a summer home between 1883 and 1885; it was designed by the 31-year-old Gaudí for Manel Vicens i Montaner (1836-1895), a broker-dealer. It is Gaudí’s first building in Barcelona where he was able to display his enormous talent.

In Casa Vicens, Gaudí recreated the figurative worlds that were fashionable at the time, but in a highly personal way.  It heralds and displays the creative freedom that would become the hallmark of his entire future oeuvre.

In addition to being one of the starting points of Gaudí’s career, the architect created an innovative, original work in Casa Vicens which is different to anything that had been built in Catalonia before it. Casa Vicens thus became one of the first examples of the aesthetic renewal of art and architecture which was taking place all around Europe in the late 19th century.

Don’t miss a thing at this gem of Modernisme with the Casa Vicens guided tour.

Led by one of our in-house experts, you will discover and learn more about the innovative language Gaudí used in the structural, decorative and symbolic elements in each space. As it is a personalised tour, in small groups, you will learn more about Antoni Gaudí and his significance. Because visiting the house not only gives visitors a look at the beginnings of his career but also helps them understand his later work.

You can wander around the house at yout own pace as long as you like to admire every nook and cranny of this first masterpiece of the Modernism movement.

What to Expect

After extensive works in 2017, has Casa Vicens been restored to its original splendor and takes its visitors back to Gaudí’s beginnings and the birth of Catalan modern architecture.

Commissioned by Manuel Vicens i Montaner, a wealthy stockbroker, Casa Vicens was built between 1883-85. Influenced by Neo-Mudéjar architecture, Gaudí designed the house in the upcoming art nouveau style, using vibrant colours and a variety of materials, such as iron, glass, ceramic tiles and concrete. In 1925 the house underwent renovations, in which the house and garden were extended and the entrance and main floor modified, still maintaining Gaudí’s original design.

Take a tour through Casa Vicens, which will bring you not only closer to understanding Gaudí’s architecture but also give you deeper insight into Barcelona’s history. Learn through an audiovisual presentation how urban planning changed the face of the city at the turn of the century and understand the social, cultural and artistic context, in which Casa Vicens was designed.

There  is a multilingual guide ( English, Spanish and French)   on each floor of Casa Vicens,  that will give you detailed information on the aspects of the room you are visiting. This is a wonderful experience to understand the work of Gaudi and Gaudi himself.

What to Expect
Your stay in Barcelona wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Gaudí’s Sagrada Família.  Millions of visitors flock to this iconic building every year to admire the architect’s work of art and jewel of modernist architecture.

The foundation stone in the construction of a gothic church was laid in 1882, but when Gaudí took over two years later, the project turned into one of unrivalled ambition. The renowned architect was well aware that he would never see his masterpiece completed and left detailed plans for the future. Gaudí’s revolutionary ideas, like self-supporting structures, are still a challenge today, in spite of the advantage of modern machinery and computer support. In the same way, his modernist design has lost nothing of its power to astonish and inspire. Geometric forms flow into each other to create a functional structure, elements of Christian iconography and nature come together to symbolise the harmony of belief and nature and stained-glass windows and skylights are used to reflect the daylight and to accentuate forms.

Don’t miss any of these fascinating details and make more of your visit to the Sagrada Família with a ticket including an audio guide. Visit the museum to learn more about the construction process in Gaudí’s former workshop and the adjoining school.

Visit the Pedrera Apartments, the Inner Courtyards and the Exhibition Room.

Step into the 'Garden of Warriors', Casa Milà’s exceptional rooftop-terrace.

What to expect:

Built between 1906 and 1912, Casa Milà is a favourite with tourists from all over the world, owing to its eye-catching, irregular facade, which has earned the building its nickname ‘La Pedrera’ (The Quarry).

Gaudí’s design of the house, though controversial at the time of construction, is nowadays considered one of the most extraordinary examples of Catalan modernist architecture and was declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. But not only Casa Milà’s facade has turned the building into a cultural icon. Its interior is just as astonishing and impresses the visitor with a unique combination of structures, forms and colours, inspired by Gaudí’s great passion for nature.

Many decorative elements, however, also fulfil a practical function, an idea essential to modernist architecture. Casa Milà’s breathtaking rooftop-terrace is the best example for this functional approach, as ventilation towers and chimneys were given the artistic form of warriors.

The tour through the building includes the Pedrera Apartments, where an audiovisual presentation recreates the life in Casa Milà at the beginning of the twentieth century. It includes the temporary exhibition as well as the Gaudí interpretation centre with models, photographs and videos. Overview

Visit Barcelona’s most famous park with its monumental core designed by Antoni Gaudí.

Enjoy spectacular views over Barcelona from the park’s esplanade.

Have your picture taken next to Park Güell’s iconic lizard on the Dragon Stairway.

What to Expect

When construction on the park started in 1900, the area was nothing more than a rocky hill with little vegetation. Under Gaudí it turned into a playground for his boundless imagination that resulted in a very organic style of architecture, free of classic conventions and standards.

Inspired by the English garden movement, the park had originally been planned as part of a housing site for luxury homes by Count Eusebi Güell. That in mind, Gaudí designed a magnificent entrance with two pavilions as porters lodges and the park’s iconic dragon stairway, which leads past its famous, mosaic-encrusted lizard, today probably one of Barcelona’s most popular images. The architect’s design of the market is no less spectacular with a breathtaking hypostyle hall of 86 columns, which support the weight of the above esplanade, where large open-air performances were planned to be held.

Leaving the monumental core, Gaudí’s architecture becomes more naturalistic, using local stone to integrate viaducts, porticos and roadways into the landscape. Blending these necessary functional elements with their surroundings reflect Gaudí’s search for harmony between nature and architecture and turn a stroll through the park into a journey full of surprising discoveries.

Overview:

Former hospital designed by modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner

Compound of pavilions and park in modernist style of architecture

Part of the UNESCO world heritage since 1997

What to Expect:

In 2009, the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau closed the doors of its modernist quarters and moved to a more modern building. Its long used facilities had become too small and outdated for modern medicine, the same reason that once prompted its construction. In four years of extensive restoration works, the former hospital buildings were given back their original splendour and reopened in 2014 as a cultural landmark, attracting visitors from all around the world due to its architectural as well as historical value.

Built between 1902 and 1930, the complex replaced the hospital’s 500-year-old housing in Barcelona’s Raval district and was the answer to the city’s rapid growth and advances in medicine. It combined state of the art technology with the splendour of modernist architecture, that even today has lost nothing of its appeal. The new buildings, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, were constructed according to the latest standards of hygiene without ignoring aesthetic aspects. Typical for modernist architecture, Santa Creu i Sant Pau is richly decorated with ornamental details like colourful mosaics, statues and stained glass windows, which refer to its history as well as religious context.

Today the former hospital has been given a new purpose as a centre of knowledge, housing amongst others, institutions of the United Nations and WHO. It hosts international seminars, congresses and meetings and has an active cultural programme. Its historical archive holds an outstanding collection of records, which documents more than 600 years of Catalan history.

Its six pointed towers, which earned the building its name ‘House of Spikes’, remind the visitor of a medieval castle, which seems to be taken from a fairytale.

Its history sounds a bit like from a tale as well, which begins in 1905 when Bartomeu Terradas, a successful textile industrialist, commissioned renowned architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch to construct three houses for his sisters Angela, Josefa and Rosa. The architect joined the houses’ facades in such a way, that they look like one single building and used towers, sculptures and ironwork to give it its distinctive medieval feel.

After more than 100 years, the house was first opened to the public just very recently in 2016 and attracts thousands of visitors with its unusual design. But La Casa de les Punxes offers more than just architecture and design. A tour through the building gives you the chance to find out more about Catalonia’s patron saint Sant Jordi and step into a world of knights, princesses and dragons.

What to Expect
Casa Milà certainly stands out from the surrounding buildings on prestigious Passeig de Gràcia. Nothing less than revolutionary at the time of its construction, the building didn’t only have admirers and its crude, white facade inspired the inhabitants of Barcelona to its still popular nickname La Pedrera (The Quarry).

Constructed between 1906 and 1912, Antoni Gaudí designed the building as one continuous curve, refusing any straight lines. Its rounded interior walls are decorated with mural paintings of flowers and plants, naturalistic elements, which can be found throughout the house in its wrought ironwork, sculpted stone columns and even in its woodwork and furniture. The design of Casa Milà made use of innovative concepts, such as a self-supporting facade, a basement garage and the stunning roof-terrace. One of the most remarkable features of the building, the roof exemplifies the modernist idea of combining functionality and aesthetics, and skylights, staircase exits, ventilation towers, and chimneys are sculpted into artistic forms.

But what was controversial at the time is now one of Gaudí’s most famous works and top exponent of Catalan Modernism. Recognised in 1984 by the UNESCO as World Heritage, Casa Milà attracts thousands of visitors every year. With your skip the line ticket you’ll avoid these queues and get access to the main floor, courtyards and the spectacular roof-terrace. Learn more about Gaudí’s life and work in the interpretation centre and through the included audio guide.

Enjoy the 19th century city palace on an informative audio tour.

What to Expect

Take a tour through the majestic city palace Güell, which doesn’t only represent the lifestyle of a family but also captures the atmosphere of turn-of-the-century Barcelona. Built between 1886 and 1890, Palau Güell was constructed in a time when the city was rapidly growing, bringing great social as well as cultural and urban changes about. This transformation of Barcelona into a modern city is reflected in Gaudís architecture, which breaks with old conventions and looks for new forms of expressing itself.

Commissioned by Eusebi Güell, a Catalan industrialist and Gaudí‘s long-term patron, the city palace was designed to meet the family’s daily needs as well as fullfill their demands as host of Barcelona’s high society. Gaudí gave major structural elements an equally important decorative function and combined classical elements with ideas of the upcoming modernism. Innovative in its use of light and space, was the design of the house inspired by the Mudéjar style of architecture of southern Spain and impresses the visitor with its richly decorated walls and ceilings and use of valuable materials like marble, alabaster and stained glass windows.

Owing to its exceptional architectural value, Palau Güell was declared part of the UNESCO world heritage in 1984 and receives today thousands of visitors. A tour through the palace takes you on an informative audio tour from the basement to the stately main floor and the roof-top terrace with its fancyful chimneys and ventilation towers, which already offer a glimpse of Gaudí’s future works.
