This accommodation was a huge letdown. We were expecting a comfortable stay for our family, but what we found was quite the opposite. With zero security, no reception staff, and serious hygiene and cleanliness issues, it was an uncomfortable experience. We would strongly advise against booking here, especially if you have children. Do your research and check out reviews before you move.
Apartaments Ciutat Vella was a great place to stay during our visit to Barcelona. Located just off La Rambla and close to the Metro Liceu, this hotel is an ideal spot for exploring the city. The apartments were nicely decorated, quite spacious and had a compact kitchen. Although the side street where the hotel is situated looks more like an alley, making it a little sketchy at night, we still felt safe. The building is long and narrow, with steep and uneven stairs, but thankfully there is an elevator! Reception is only open 8:00-14:30, so if you arriving after those hours it’s best to call ahead to make sure you can find it; there are no signs indicating it’s a hotel. Overall our stay was comfortable and we would happily return.
drawers. We recommend this apartment as a great value.
We stayed at Apartaments Ciutat Vella for a week and had a wonderful time! The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with great features like dark wood shutters and a microwave. The location was very central and accessible, with walking distance to a variety of attractions - La Pedrera, Palau National de la Música, Museo Picasso and Park Ciutidella. The receptionists were all helpful and friendly, and there was always clean towels available. The kitchen was well-equipped, though there was no oven. We also were impressed with the number of closets in the room that allowed us to hang clothes, though there were no drawers. Overall, we had a great stay and recommend this apartment for its great value and central location.
We had the pleasure of staying at Apartaments Ciutat Vella in June 2019. The convenient location of the apartments made it easy to explore the area. We had two apartments and they were both very spacious, clean and well kept, it felt so nice to be able to relax in the evening after a day of sightseeing! 30 seconds from La Rambla, this place couldn't be in a better spot! The friendly staff was available up to 2.30pm each day and were always willing to help. Despite being in the heart of the city, the noise levels in the apartments were not an issue. Such an enjoyable stay, we would definitely visit here again.
hotel if we want . He said that he can't do anything regarding this problem
The stay at Apartaments Ciutat Vella, however, was not a pleasant experience. The air conditioner was not working and, as the weather was quite hot, we had to endure a sleepless night in a sauna-like room. We called the reception three times to report the issue but, unfortunately, there was no one there in the evening and at night. We asked for our room to be changed but the woman told us that she couldn't help. In the morning, Kenny (the host) checked the air conditioner and confirmed that it wasn't working. He told us to write an email to the hotel if we wanted, but he couldn't do anything regarding this problem. We were disappointed, as the air conditioner was in a poor condition, with very dirty filters, and when we tried to clean them, it still didn't help.
