Economy of Catalonia

Few numbers about the economy of Catalonia:

- Economy : Catalonia shows a dynamism envied in the peninsula. Barcelona and its zone of influence has a third less of unemployed than the rest of the country. With 25% of the national production, Catalonia is the principal Spanish industrial area, With automotive engineering, electronics, chemistry and the textile as growth industries and for a few years the agroalimentary one. The services represent 60% of the activity, industry 36% and the agriculture less than 4%. Influenced by European standards more than Spanish ones, the province has associated to Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrenees region to form an Euroregion.

Catalonia has also constituted with Lombardie, Rhone-Alpes and Land of Bade Wurtemberg the Club Four Engines for Europe. The region awaits impatiently its connection to the high velocity railway line through Perpignan.
