Where can I exchange currency?
There are two bank offices in the terminal which are situated in La Plaza and are open between 07:00 and 22:00.
Where are the boarding gates?
The boarding gates are grouped into 5 zones: A, B and C, which are on P2, and D and E, which can be found on P3. You can access these zones once you have passed through the security checkpoints located in the check-in hall.
Where do I board if the gate number is not shown on the boarding pass?
The number of the gate through which you have to board should be indicated on the ticket and, if not, it should indicate the zone in which the gate is situated. You can reach these zones by following the fixed or dynamic signs.
Where can I get a bag for keeping liquids when passing through the security checkpoint?
The Multi-shop Divers, situated in the check-in hall, sells self-sealing transparent bags of no more than a litre in capacity that can be used for carrying liquids, thus facilitating their inspection at the security checkpoint.
Where can luggage transported by each airline be collected?
Airlines using this terminal deliver luggage to the area near the arrivals hall, with the exception of flights between Barcelona and Madrid, which have a separate area near the Barcelona-Madrid Air Corridor lobby.
Is there a left luggage service?
The airport's left-luggage office is situated on the level below La Plaza. The current charge for 2009, for all or part of every 24-hour period, is €4.90 for the large locker, 50x80x90 cm (width x depth x height); €4.40 for the medium locker, 35x80x60 cm; and €3.80 for the small locker, 35x80x45 cm.
Aena reserves the right to transfer deposited objects to the warehouse once 30 days have elapsed. The cost of transfer is €39.34 and the storage charge in the warehouse for each 24 hours is €1.97.
Where can I make enquiries about my lost luggage?
In the Lost and Found offices that the airlines provide for passengers, situated in the baggage reclaim zones.
Where are the check-in areas for the airlines?
The check-in desks are concentrated in the check-in hall (P3) with the exception of the Barcelona-Madrid Air Corridor which has its own check-in desks in its lobby.
Where are the automatic check-in machines located?
The auto-check in machines are situated in the check-in hall and in the Barcelona-Madrid air corridor lobby, near the check-in desks.
Where can non-EU citizens obtain reimbursement of taxes paid?
The customs offices where reimbursement requests are to be submitted are situated in the check-in hall.
How can I recover an item lost in the airport terminals?
You should call Barcelona airport's lost property service (telephone 932 596 440). The service is available Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 23:00. The lost property office is located next to the left-luggage office, on the level below La Plaza.
Where are the VIP lounges located?
At the time of opening of T1 there are two VIP lounges located on the second floor, between the check-in lobby and the Sky Centre. Over the course of 2009 another lounge is set to open in this area, as well as another near the Barcelona-Madrid Air corridor lobby. In the future, the T1 will have six VIP lounges.
Are there specific terminals for domestic and international flights?
No. Barcelona Airport follows the airline-based terminal usage criteria, that is, different airlines operating in each terminal regardless of the origin or destination of the flight. At present, the companies that operate in terminal T1 belong and are associated to the Star Alliance and One World alliances: Adria Airways, Aegean Airlines, Air Algerie, Air Baltic, Air Comet, Air Nostrum, American Airlines, Arkia Israel Airlines, Atlas Blue, Austrian Airlines, Avianca, BA Cityflyer, Blue1, British Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Croatia Airlines, EgyptAir, El Al, Estonian Air, Finnair, Iberia, Iberworld, Israir, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Spanair, Sun D'Or International Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, US Airways and Vueling. Before the end of the year, the Sky Team airlines (Air Europa, Air France, KLM and Czech Airlines, among others) and their associated companies will be transferred. Those companies offering intercontinental flights which are not associated to the alliances will also operate from terminal T1.

Where can I find the tour operators or travel agencies?
Travel agencies are located in the railway hall which can be accessed via La Plaza.
How can I access the new terminal from outside or from T2?
The new terminal can be accessed by private vehicles (from the C-31 or C-32 at turnoff B-22); taxi (2 stops); city buses, intercity buses, regional lines and Aerobús (stops on floors 0 and 3). A 24 hour shuttle service links the two terminals and private vehicles can use the structural roadway to get from T1 to T2.
Where can I park my car?
The new terminal has 11,000 parking spaces for users. More than 9,000 are situated in the buildings in front of the terminal and are covered, while the rest are outdoor spaces. The car park is divided into 7 modules (A, B, C, D, E, F and G).
How do I access the Renfe train station to get to Barcelona city?
The railway station for T2 is situated in front of the terminal building, between terminals A and B. A shuttle will transfer those passengers who wish to be transferred from this station to the new Terminal 1.
The T1 Renfe station is currently under construction. This will be situated in the railway hall on the ground floor of the new terminal. It can be accessed via the area known as La Plaza, using the access ramps. In the future, suburban (cercanías) trains and high speed trains (AVE) will arrive at this railway hall.
Can I access the new terminal by metro?
In the future, line 9 of the Serveis Metropolitans de Barcelona is scheduled to have a stop at T1 and another at T2.
Where should I park if I am going to be out of town for several days?
The new terminal has 1,015 long-stay parking spaces for users who are going to be away for a number of days.
Where can I find information regarding scheduled flights?
From the airlines themselves and through the airport's public information systems, which reflect any incidents as they are notified by the airlines. Schedules may also be consulted on our website or by calling Aena's Customer Call Centre (tel. 902 404 704).
Is smoking permitted in the new terminal?
Barcelona airport is a smoke-free space and, therefore, smoking is prohibited inside any of the passenger terminals.
Will there also be specific services for people with reduced mobility in the new terminal?
As in all other airports and terminals, people with reduced mobility can request personalised assistance via the website or by calling the Aena information line (telephone 902 404 704). In addition to this request, which is valid for assistance in Spanish Aena network airports, passengers should notify their airline, transport agent or tour operator of their need for assistance.
What do I have to do to be able to travel with an animal?
To carry out the procedures required for an animal to be able to travel with a passenger, the passenger must get in touch with the Civil Guard at the airport.
