The Oriental, as the name suggests, is a fantastic blend of textures, colours and lots of love and care, which creates a wonderful base for your stay during your visit to Barcelona...
The area surrounding the apartment;
The location of the Oriental studio is in Eixample, an increasingly popular choice (and correctly so!) for the visitor to Barcelona... Very much in the centre of Barcelona this area is considered more residential, but still within easy access of all the sights; it is located just at the edge of the old city in Barcelona, like the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, and nearest of all, Paseo de Gracia and El Borne. Not far from the apartment are Plaza de Tetuan and the imposing modernist Arc de Triomf with its unusual Islamic-style brickwork. The apartment offers a quiet reprive from the bustling and very busy Las Ramblas but is close enough for guests to walk the ten to 15 minutes to where the action is. There is a superb food and produce market called La Boqueria just off La Rambla ...
We think this is a great area for any visitor coming to Barcelona...
The Apartment;
The Oriental apartment is full of different textures and colour; it truly is an apartment born of tender loving care from it's owners and we believe that this, along with the splendid decor, has given this fabulous studio apartment a special feel and charm... the guest will feel welcome and at ease from the moment they walk in... although this apartment is on the fifth floor (a real sixth floor) and the building, as is quite common in this part of town, does NOT have an elevator, the apartment itself is worth the extra effort...
This great studio apartment has 32m2 and has everything necessary to ensure the guest will enjoy a hassle free stay in Barcelona... the Oriental has loads of natural light which gives a wonderful feeling of calm and tranquility throughout...
The kitchen area of the apartment has been given an extra special touch from the owner; the mosaic tile detail, in homage to the ever important Gaudí, really gives a unique look to this area.. the kitchen itself is equipped with everything that may be needed to prepare any kind of meal.. the look of the kitchen has a certain "avant guard" feel to it as it is done in a "shiny black" colour and really stands out for it's unusualness; this area comes with a bar area with adjustable stools where the two guests can enjoy whatever meal of the day they choose to prepare..
The living area of the apartment is a blend of wonderful pieces of furniture from different places; hanging behind the black leather sofa has a wonderful budha image from Indonesia, which has been combined with a side table from the Indian colonies, along with a hand made coffee table from Egypt all placed on top of a Turkish rug....the small details of the Marocan tea pot and matching glasses blend perfectly to give this apartment it's unique and very pleasant look...
The bed is wonderful, a double bed (160 x 200) and comes with a vaporous like drape that hangs from above, creating a very special effect... there is special lighting from underneath the bed to add to this special look.. the lighting throughout the apartment comes from mostly indonesian and arabic lamps....
The bathroom, although unusual in shape, caters to all your needs perfectly; it comes with a bathtub! where the guest can also take a shower...all the fittings are very modern and up to the minute.. fresh towels are ready for use upon arrival....
