This wonderfully charming and convenient apartment lets the visitor orientate themselves quickly to Barcelona's old city. Situated in the charmingly colourful neighbourhood of Raval the apartment building itself dates back at least 150 years and has been renovated completely. With all the attractions that the old town of Barcelona has to offer, you do not need to go far to find all the wonderful bars, clubs and hundreds of restaurants that can be found on your doorstep. The area surrounding the apartment:
The Kandinsky I apartment is situated in the heart of the old town in Barcelona about two minutes' walk from the famous Las Ramblas and Plaça Catalunya in an area called the Raval. The Raval is an old and historic part of Barcelona, rich in character and full of energy. There are many bars and restaurants to explore and discover in this charming part of Barcelona. The Barcelona visitor staying a this apartment will be able to enjoy many of its attractions such as the MACBA contemporary art museum. Only a short walk from the apartment you will find the superb food and produce market called La Boquería. Areas of interest within walking distance from the apartment are the famous Las Ramblas, the Liceu opera house, the grandiose Gothic Cathedral, the Picasso museum and Barceloneta beach. There is are a feast of little music, clothes and bric-a-brac shops along the street where the Kandinsky is located along with some really wonderful local restaurants.
The apartment:
The apartment is located in the same building as the other two Kandinsky apartments. This apartment, Kandinsky I, is located on the "principal" level which is one floor up from the ground floor with no elevator. A one bedroom apartment, it is perfect for a couple, a couple with a child or two, or two couples. The bedroom contains a queen sized bed and ample wardrobe space for the guests staying and the living area of the apartment provides the guests with a pullout sofa for two additional persons. In here you can also enjoy the flat screen TV and the DVD player that also plays CDs and MP3. Additionally, guests are treated to their own private terrace with comfortable seating which is bright and perfect for those early morning coffee and paper reading sessions.
The living room and kitchen are housed in the same room as you enter into the apartment. The old wooden antique french windows help brighten up the living area and open up to reveal a cute balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped with vitroceramic cooker, oven, fridge, iron, pots and pans, toaster, microwave and all the comforts of home. The eating area of the apartment contains a modern dining table and chairs.
The floors through most of the apartment are fabulous wooden floors that add to the warmth and welcoming feel of this apartment. The clean and modern bathroom has been newly installed with good quality bed linens and towels provided.
