Right on the edge of the Gothic Quarter, which really is the true heart of Barcelona, all the places of interest are within easy walking distance such as the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, Port Vell and the very trendy El Borne, which is full of great cafes, bars and restaurants. The Gothic area is a maze of interconnecting dark, cobbled stone streets, and there are also plenty of cafés and bars. You are also just a few blocks from the amazing gothic church of Santa Maria del Mar, where one can continue on to the Picasso Museum and the Cathedral.
