Barcelona Aquarium

The Aquarium of Barcelona is the most important marine leisure and education centre in the world concerning the Mediterranean.

A series of 35 tanks, 11,000 animals and 450 different species, an underwater tunnel 80 metres long, six million litres of water and an immense Oceanarium, the only one in Europe, turn this centre into a unique, reference leisure show that has already been visited by more than 14 million people.

Opened on 8th September 1995, it has used state of the art technology to reproduce the different ambients is displayed as faithfully as possible. The displays that make it up are: a route around 21 tanks that show the marvels of the different marine communities of the Mediterranean sea (including the immense Oceanarium) and the colourful tropical seas; the Planeta Aqua display, and Explora!

And for a reasonable sum, you can even dive with the sharks!

I was sorry to read in the description of this Oceanarium the statement "the only one in Europe".

Lisbon´s Oceanarium presents not only a crowded sea bottom mixing animals from the different oceans (as shown in the movie), but animal habitats reproducing different seaside regions.

I was planning a visit to Barcelona, but will reconsider, since data presented in the Internet is not reliable.

Bonjour,

Ma fille a plongé avec les requins. Super souvenir!! un accueil chaleureux et très VIP. Une visite innoubliable des nurseries et diverses installations. Fanny a plongé , et s'est tenue en position de "sécurité" pendant que les plongeurs nourrissaient les requins, ensuite elle a nagé pendant un très très long moment et a même trouvé une dent de requin. Pour elle innoubliable!!! Merci encore aux plongeurs !!
